CODE LIGHT:
Another recent editorial I shot in Cape Town for 1968 Magazine and fashion designer, David West
Stylist Marica Smit.
Hair and Makeup Alet Viljoen.
Models Lesala - D&A Models, Tamzin and Sasha Lee - Boss Models Cape Town.
Clothes David West.
Location Taal Monument in Cape Town, South Africa.
I wanted to celebrate the growing interest in the diversity of the young South African fashion and design scene. Cape Town was recently awarded the World Design Capital award for 2014 and I wanted to exclusively use local designers and local, multicultural models for this shoot.
I also chose to shoot the editorial at the Taal Monument. It’s an architecturally beautiful structure that was erected in the 70’s just outside Cape Town and was originally a fairly isolated location during the apartheid years. I feel the story ties together the positive artistic future South Africa is busy developing while referencing a time in the recent past where that seemed an impossibility.
A recent swimsuit editorial I shot while in Cape Town.
Thanks to Nicole Van Heerden for the styling, Mariska Swart for the hair and MU and Kerstin for assisting.
Models are Leatitia ans Shani from Boss Models Cape Town
Apologies for the lack of updates on here recently. I’ve been busy on a few projects in Cape Town and the South African internet speed has a lot to live up to ;)
Anyway, to make up for it, here is a recent lingerie series I did for the brilliant Quita from Hughes Models, shot at Clic La Mode studio’s in London.
Stylist: Megan Havard
Hair and MUA: Kate O’Reilly www.kateoreillymakeup.com
Assistant: Will Rivers - http://bit.ly/x7L07H
I have a few editorial projects that are nearly completed (including the Cape Town shoots) which I’ll share really soon.
